My Lord an Erotic Romance by Tracie Podger

Blurb

When Lord Duchoveny was presented with an opportunity that was hard to resist, it came with a clause. A woman he desired would also, technically, be his boss.

Gabriella Collingsworth oversaw the UK operations for a private investor and venture capitalist. Between them, they had agreed Alex Duchoveny would be the best man to head a new business with lucrative contracts.

What hadn’t been banked on was the immediate attraction between Alex and Gabriella and the push and pull of forming a relationship between two people with alpha tendencies.

A British stiff upper lip or stick up his ass as Gabriella called it, causes Alex to find it difficult to express his feelings for her.
That is until an old rival returns for revenge.

My Lord features characters from the novel, The Facilitator, and is a standalone for readers over the age of 18.

The Paranormals are riding high and Zak should be ecstatic. Instead, he’s exhausted. Having to supply the demon Abaddon with a quota of souls, as well as rehearse, record, and tour means his workload is just too heavy.

Shop Assistant Erica is feeling down. Running The Paranormals Fan Club in her spare time, their fans believe she’s in constant touch with her idols, while the truth is she’s not seen them since the final of Britain’s Best New Band and she weirdly can’t remember much of that.

When Erica demands a face-to-face interview with Zak, he surprisingly invites her to spend a week accompanying the band as they play London. The band are annoyed at not being consulted, apart from guitarist Noah, who knows that Zak’s deal with the demon can be undone if Zak finds his true love, and what if Erica just happens to be the one?

All hell (well, the seventh dimension), is about to break loose.

Posh Frocks and Peacocks By Tracie Podger

Posh Frocks & Peacocks, the third and final part of Lizzie’s humorous journey, by Tracie Podger

Release Date: 31st July 2020

*Blurb*

What better to accompany Colleen the Llama, Gerald the goat, and Piggy the pig with rickets than two rescue peacocks?

In true Lizzie and Ronan style, however, these aren’t just any old peacocks.

Life for Lizzie and Ronan has been hectic. With a thriving holiday destination set up in the castle grounds, the naked artists still…naked, and the use of the castle as a film location, it’s time to plan the next development in their relationship.

However, a promise to an elderly neighbour means the introduction of two new pets to the menagerie of misfits that free roam the estate causing all sorts of trouble.

With a wedding in the planning, the prospect of swingers meeting naturists for the first time, Lizzie and Ronan have their work cut out for them!

But will it all go to plan?

My Review:

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This novella is a slice of extra pie in the crazy world of Lizzie and it is just such a good read. For anyone who is scared of getting older or feels like their life is over because they have reached a certain age, I urge you to read the previous two books and this novella.

Lizzie was at a crossroads in her life, divorced, single and in her fifties until she met Ronan, a handsome man with a gorgeous property in Scotland. You really need to have read the previous two books, Limp Dicks and Saggy Tits and Cold Nips and Frosty Bits (yes you read those titles right!), to truly understand the craziness that is Lizzie’s life.

In this novella Lizzie is planning her wedding but of course that can not go smoothly. Lizzie is an amazing character, she is funny and determined and cant help but put a smile on my face when I read what she is getting up to next. The author has made light of some of the “joys” of being a mature woman with a sex life, even though Lizzie is anxious she takes it all in her stride, she is such a lovable character. She is a hot mess handling menopause, a growing business, naked artists, planning a wedding and a crazy bunch of animals, but she styles it out like a pro.

The story flows well and you want to keep reading just to find out what could possibly happen next. I hope I get to read more about Lizzie and the other characters soon.

Twilight

So many of you may have heard that Stephanie Meyer is finally releasing Midnight Sun, the twilight story told through Edwards eyes instead of Bella’s.

Back in 2008 a partial draft of Midnight Sun was illegally released online. This excited fans of the Twilight Saga to know that they were going to get an insight into the mind of Edward Cullen, but sadly with the illegal release Stephanie put on hold the idea of finishing and releasing the book and left fans hanging. But on August 4th we will finally have the long awaited book in our hands.

Now I have a mixed love affair with Twilight, I think my first knowledge of it was the first film, and when people told me that it had sparkly vampires in it, it turned me right off of watching it. Vampire novels for me were based against Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles. My then boyfriend (now husband) got me to watch the first film, saying that it wasn’t that bad. After watching it I was still on the fence, now I cant remember if I watched the second film or if I read the books next??? But I know that once I read the series I had a greater respect and understanding of the story line and this form of vampire. I say that in my eyes the Twilight Saga is a love story not a vampire story, just my opinion.

My husband says that I jumped on the band wagon and got swept up in the hype and popularity of the franchise. Maybe I did, but I enjoyed the book, it was a love story that I invested in and so much came following on from reading these books. I meet a fantastic group of people who have become life long friends, I have attended conventions and red carpet events, I have met some of the stars of the film, Fifty Shades of Grey happened (this started out as fan fiction of Twilight). Twilight has had a big impact on my life.

So now that Midnight Sun is going to be released in a few weeks time I don’t know how I feel about reading the book?

The Fifty Shades author EL James, has already released two books that have retold the first two books through Christians eyes. I did like the new insight to the story, Christian was a very complex character, I’m not sure if Edward is. Obviously there will be some inner turmoil and angst.

My other debate is that the book will be released in Hardback, my copies of Twilight are in paperback #FirstWorldProblems . I like my books to match if I can and it really bugs me when the cover design changes half way through a series. I do have some series of books that are mixed between hardback and paperback and it does stress me out. Does it bug you guys if they are not all the same?

Also there is some shtick about reading Twilight books and being a fan of the franchise. I’ ve seen the memes about other movies being a better love story than Twilight. But if you get some enjoyment out of reading then it shouldn’t matter what you read.

What are your thoughts about Twilight? Are you excited by this new release?

Let me know your thoughts below.

Charity Anthologies: Love them or Hate them?

Hi Page Turners, sorry for the radio silence, I have been back at work for about a month and a half and am having to juggle my schedule, my husbands schedule and arranging child care, not much reading has happened since my return to work to be honest. I am however working my way through a Charity Anthology called Love is Love, it is a collection of romance stories with an LGBTQI theme to each story.

I’ve noticed that over the past few years Charity Anthologies have become a big thing in the Indie Community, and are usually released inline with a Indie book signing.

anthology
/anˈθɒlədʒi/
noun
a published collection of poems or other pieces of writing.
“an anthology of European poetry”
Friends and fellow bloggers said that they love them and buy Anthologies because they liked a certain author that had contributed. They have found new authors by reading Anthologies, some authors might write a short story or an introduction that might link or lead into another one of their books or series and bang, they have found their next favorite author. The fact that the book raises money for familiar charities makes the books more appealing, knowing that you are contributing towards a cause.
I have contributed towards a charity anthology, I was given a picture to get inspiration from and wrote a poem based upon the picture and the knowledge that the money raised by sales of the anthology would go towards homeless charities. The whole process was an enjoyable one and I felt a great sense of pride. I spoke with one author who has contributed towards a couple of anthologies, she was given the theme or told the charity the book was raising money for and went from there. I asked her if the work she had written linked with any of her other work? She said that currently her stories are complete standalone but now that amazon have reverted the rights back to her she is now free to write a more detailed version of her story or include it in a series. Another author I know plans on extending a story that features in an anthology to a full size novel. This can be a great thing for fans of that author if they enjoyed the short story and want to know more and invest in the story.
I have had a varied experience with reading Anthologies. I have brought an Anthology and only read the stories from authors that I know, not really connecting with the theme but wanting to read the work of certain authors. With my current read I am reading every story as its a theme that I have wanted to read more of. I have brought anthologies purely on the basis of the charity it is raising money for and, hangs head in shame, not read the book but felt that I had done my part simply by buying the book.
The benefit of Anthologies is that you get to read short stories and explore themes and authors that you may not have thought about. Not every story/poem is gonna be for you but you can broaden your horizon and take a chance. However, with so many charity anthologies around it can become overwhelming and consuming, you want to do your part and contribute towards worthy charities but it is just not possible to buy them all. Your also under pressure when they are only available at certain book signings or for a limited time. If your anything like me you also like to get your books signed, you then have to mark out each story and carry what is often a big bulky book around signings until you can get a full house of signatures.
Love them or hate them charity anthologies are around, either traditionally published or independently published but all for worthy causes.
Hit me up with some of your favorite Anthologies.
